New Idea

I have the first sentences for a new idea that has spoked around in my head.

And since I cannot seem to work on my current WIP, here is the new beginning:

The sun rose on a mild, grey morning, casting its pale glow over the slumbering streets of City. The world stirred. Curtains were pulled back to allow the feeble rays of sunlight in, doors were opened to welcome the occasional breeze. A new day was beginning.

For everyone the world revolved as usual, but for one family, exactly one week ago, the world had ended. Had ended with the discovery of a beaten and bloodied body in an alley.

Kept scene with a new life

Ain’t it strange?

Some time ago, I posted a snippet for one of the exercises in the Forum (cannot remember which month). Jo had some very good and helpful comments on it, and I reworked part of it, but didn’t know where it would fit in the story then.
And, while I was writing more and more, I became convinced, that I could not use this scene at all, but was loath to delete it and just moved it to another folder (“You never know,” I thought).

And you really never now. While I was tipping away last night, I was thinking about how the scene could develop, what could happen. And I remembered the scene. Pulled it out, read it, amended it slightly aaaand… it fit perfectly. At least until I do revisions *g*
But for the moment the situation is just what I needed in that scene in that place.

Perhaps I will post the scene later or tomorrow.

Dream

The strangest thing happened to me last night.

I was lying in bed, letting my thoughts drift. I was slipping away to sleep when I saw an image before my eyes. And was suddenly jolted awake again, by the realisation that this was an image of the dragon’s island. I knew it had a volcano, but not, that it had this strangely formed beach.

I was standing “on” the volcano - although now I think about it, it was more like hovering above it - and looking down at the empty beach.

Even today I see this image clearly in front of my eyes, whereas often in the morning I only remember that I saw something, but not the actual thing. (And although I know I’m asleep then, I cannot make myself to wake up and write it down)

I know, very hard on the imagination...
This looks nothing like what I saw in my dream, but I haven't got a scanner available at the moment and can only work with this ball-shaped thingy for a mouse on my laptop. No precise drawing with that one.

Off the Internet

Everyone that I'm following regularly has resolved to stay off the net for a while and concentrate on writing.

I need this withdrawal too, so I guess I'll join the ladies. :)
I will check my mail, visit Facebook ONCE a day and update my word meter, but NOT MORE.
I will write everyday, will meet my goals and be happy by the end of the month. *g*

December will probably be very busy, with the holidays and such, and I need to stay a bit ahead of my goals...

GOOD LUCK LADIES, SEE YOU AT THE END OF THE MONTH!!

Count

I decreased my total word count from 120,000 to 100,000 because after I have written this much and have given it some thought, I believe this is more realistic (and enough by far, I don't intent to step into Diana's shoes - too much *g*)

And although I have written over 2000 words yesterday, the total word count hasn't increased much, as I've slashed and burned almost 1700 words (*ouch*).
I thought this would only be coming with revisions, but why keep something that will not stay anyhow? Just hurt a bit progresswise...

October Check In

I didn't quite meet my October goal, but I still got over 10K, so that's Ok, if only not satisfying.

Overall

'Zokutou'Zokutou
34,939 / 100,000
(34.9%)

October

'Zokutou'Zokutou
10,619 / 13,833
(76.8%)

No NaNoWriMo

OK,

I decided to not participate in the NaNoWriMo. I after due consideration I decided that I have not enough time and cannot make time and the pressure would be too high.

I will stick to my meager 334 words a day for November. Constant dripping wears away the stone. *g*
